Ultrasound
Sound-wave imaging with a range of specific purposes.
Ultrasound
Sound-wave imaging for pregnancy, gynaecology, soft tissues, blood vessels and general assessment. Find the ultrasound that matches your scan.
Pregnancy ultrasound
Obstetric ultrasound provides information about a pregnancy using sound-wave imaging. The purpose of a scan depends on your stage of pregnancy and clinical needs.
Gynaecological ultrasound
Ultrasound assessment of pelvic reproductive structures can help your practitioner investigate gynaecological symptoms and clinical questions.
Nuchal translucency screening
An early-pregnancy ultrasound measurement used in screening for the chance of certain chromosomal conditions. Screening estimates likelihood; it does not make a diagnosis.
Preeclampsia screening
Screening can estimate the chance of developing preeclampsia during pregnancy. Your maternity care provider can explain whether screening is appropriate and what your result means.
Musculoskeletal ultrasound
Ultrasound imaging of relevant muscles, tendons, ligaments and other soft tissues can help investigate a specific area of pain, injury or swelling.
General ultrasound
General ultrasound uses sound waves to assess the area requested by your practitioner. The clinic can confirm whether your particular examination is available.
Vascular ultrasound
Ultrasound assessment of blood vessels and blood flow can help your practitioner investigate a vascular concern in a specified area.
Elastography
An ultrasound-based assessment of tissue stiffness that can provide additional information alongside conventional imaging in selected examinations.
Cardiac & CT
Distinct assessments of the heart and cross-sectional imaging.
Cardiac ultrasound is by appointment only.
Cardiac ultrasound
Also called echocardiography or an echo, cardiac ultrasound uses sound waves to assess the heart’s structure and function. An appointment is required.
CT scans
Computed tomography uses X-rays to create detailed cross-sectional images. Advanced Diagnostics offers contrast and non-contrast CT; the appropriate examination depends on the clinical question.
Cardiac calcium scoring
A non-contrast CT assessment of calcified plaque in the coronary arteries. It can contribute to cardiovascular risk assessment for selected people.
DEXA & X-ray
Bone health, body composition and general X-ray imaging.
DEXA bone density
A bone density scan uses dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry, also called DEXA or DXA, to assess bone mineral density and support evaluation of bone health.
DEXA body composition
DEXA body composition imaging provides information about the body’s fat, lean tissue and bone components. Confirm the assessment and report available at the practice.
General X-ray
General X-ray creates images using a small amount of ionising radiation. Your practitioner selects the examination that best addresses the clinical question.
